Historic shops are part of the experience

In the Old Town, trade is part of the historical experience. Here you can buy items that are not available elsewhere and that extend the visit to the museum.

In Købmandsgården's shop from 1864, the goods range from timber and rope to the finest porcelain. Here the farmers came in from the country with butter and vegetables.

At the bookstore in 1927 you will find a large selection of books, scrapbooks and glossy pictures. And in Schous Sæbehus, which is also from 1927, there is Esprit de Valdemar, 4711 perfume and Schous crystal shavings on the shelves. Schous Sæbehus was the country's largest retail chain in the 1920s.

The local mini market in 1974 was always well stocked with groceries. The Old Town's mini market shows all kinds of goods from that time and sells sweets and freshly ground coffee.
