The story behind Mølleparken
As the name Mølleparken tells us, there was a mill in this park, and in 1286 the watermill is mentioned for the first time. At that time, the mill was the king's property, and it was not until 1903 that the mill business was closed down and the land was sold to Aarhus Municipality in 1909. This allowed the public to access the large mill garden in 1916. The old Aarhus Mill was demolished in 1927 and has since been used for squares, parks, public buildings or the like.
The park has not always had an equally flattering reputation, but today it is with its open and green environment and with ARoS as a neighbor, among other things. a beloved meeting place for young students who, from the first warming rays of the spring sun, enjoy the park's spaces and green areas.
Aarhus Festival Week
Today, Mølleparken is also used during Aarhus Festuge, as one of the many concert venues in the city. Mølleparken houses a long line concerts during Aarhus Festuge, where space is made for budding and exciting musicians.
