Brabrand Lake

Distance: 5.18 Km

Lake Brabrand is a fantastic area where you can experience wildlife, nature or take a pleasant roller skating trip with the whole family. Or how about cycling, running or walking?

A beautiful nature area with fantastic birds

Around Brabrand Lake, the landscape offers both vantage points with unobstructed views of the lake, small forest areas and the outskirts of several small cozy allotment garden areas. The landscape is very varied and you can see several rare animals and birds.

Go looking in the bird tower

At Stavstrup Stationsby, a high bird tower has been set up, where there are good observation opportunities to see grebes, reed forest birds and various birds of prey. In the bird tower, boards hang over some of the many birds you can see in the area. Each bird illustration is provided with a species name, so you can determine the birds you see from the tower yourself. You can read more about the area's birds in this pamphlet.

Around Brabrand Lake

All the way around the lake there is a paved path, Brabrandstien, where you can run, cycle or go on a romantic boyfriend trip. The possibilities are many and the road is also suitable for people with walking difficulties, wheelchair users and prams.
You can start the tour around the beautiful Brabrand Church, where it is also possible to feed ducks nearby. You can also pack a lunch basket and find a green area where you can sit back and admire the beautiful nature and the many different activities from the path.

Brabrandstien is part of the walking route from Aarhus to Skanderborg and the cycling route from Aarhus to Ry.
