The legendary pub Bent J has got its very own place in the Old Town, where you can experience the old jazz bar come to life in the 1974 district.

A piece of Danish cultural history

The pub Bent J opened in Aarhus in 1973, and despite its modest 57 m2 over time has attracted some of the best Danish and international jazz names. But after 35 years, the owner Bent J chose to close the jazz bar in 2008, as it was his own wish to hand over his life's work to the Old Town.

Live jazz

The jazz bar has now reopened and it is a unique opportunity to experience Danish jazz history from Aarhus both preserved and told. At Bent J, you can experience how people met in the late 20th century to listen to jazz music, exactly as Bent J. would have liked. There will be service at the bar and live jazz at selected times.
